Now a days India is the one of the hottest tourist destination in the world - With one foot swathed in ancient traditions and the other striding in to the entrepreneurial e0age, few countries on the earth embrace diversity as passionately as India. India ,it is often said, is not a country but continent. From north to south and east to west ,the people are different , the language are different ,the custom are different the country is different but every zone slogan is one – ` Athithi Devo Bbhawa ` means ` Guest is God ` .This type of hospitality you can not find any where in world .

Tourist arrivals to India to go up by 25 pc this year!!!

Buoyed by the revival of tourism in Jammu and Kashmir and a boom in southern states like Goa and Kerala, foreign tourist arrivals to India are tipped to go up by 25 per cent this year, India’s Travel and Tourism generated approximately 5% of the GDP.

The tourist hotspots in India are simmering not only with the foreign tourists but the non - resident Indians as well. India has also witnessed a sudden rush in the chartered flights from Europe, and for the first time , in huge numbers from Russia. A series of promotions led by the 300th anniversary celebrations of the Taj Mahal, an all time draw for visitors, is expected to lift tourist arrivals by 25 per cent this year.

The foreign tourist arrivals in the first three months of this year had already gone up by 17 per cent compared to the same period last year. This trend is likely to continue with the liberalisation on chartered flights and India emerging as an all-round, year-round destination.

Goa and Kerala led the country as the states attracted the maximum number of foreign tourists while Jammu and Kashmir was regaining its lost glory with the improvement in relations with Pakistan. India was a favoured destination for wedding and honeymoon as people from abroad could choose a wedding in Rajasthani or Kerala style.

Figures reveal that tourists from Russia have a desire to visit India, well known for the tranquil beach paradise on the west coast of India. It is a place to relax from the hectic pace of everyday life and enjoy your winter sun holidays. Gentle breeze, swaying palm trees, the never ending shore line, the beaches with golden sand and the regular lapping of the waves….this is Goa, the magical place in India. The Cote-d-azure, the French Riviera, the Greek Islands, all wrapped in one.Goa is the best entry point to India. Very well connected by Rail, Road & Air, Goa is ideal for any tourist to start his Indian "Yatra" (tour).

Russia has the potential, along with Scandinavian countries like Holland and Denmark for tourist inflow into India, and naturally Goa .In the period of November and December when it is very cold in England and Russia, the tropical climate of Goa is a draw for tourists.

This time, the participants from India for Moscow international travel and tourism mart, that also include star hotel owners from Goa, have showcased the destination in a 18 square metre stall, said government sources.. The upbeat mood is partly be due to the fact that Goa has been having a very good season so far this year, 'the best charter season so far' as some in the industry may put it. "We couldn't have asked for more.. The industry is also looking forward to the Russian charters that are due to arrive in May 2004. The government's initiative in participating in the Moscow fair appears to have paid dividends

The new tourism season is all set to begin. Tourism season starts on September 27 World Tourism Day, a number of foreign tourists like so many migratory birds have already begun to arrive in Goa. In anticipation of the tourism season, a number of preparations are already underway in the beach belts whether it is the perennially popular Calangute, Candolim, Baga and Anjuna stretch or the Colva, Benaulim stretch. Foreign tourists, particularly the Russians, seem to have discovered Arambol and Morjim.
