In this tour, you will visit Chennai - the Gateway city of South India; Kanchipuram - famous for temples and silk, Mahabalipuram - famous for shore temples, Pondicherry - former French colony, Tanjore - famous Brihadeshwara Temple is located here, Madurai - another city famous for temples, noticeably Meenakshi Temple, Thekkady - for wildlife sanctuary, Kumarakom - for backwater experience, Cochin - another Gateway city to South India.
Day 01: Arrive Chennai
Upon arrival at Chennai airport, meet our representative who will transfer you to the hotel. Checkin the hotel where you will be accorded a traditional welcome. Later proceed on a half day city tour of Chennai visiting Fort St.George, Government Museum, Valluvar Kottam, MGR Film city, Birla Planetarium, Marina beach, Kapaleeshwara temple, Chennai is the first city of south India and also the capital city of Tamilnadu and it is also called as Gateway of South India. Evening return back to hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram (Mamallapuram)
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Mallapuram. Enroute visit Kanchipuram also called as "City of Thousand Temples". The temple town of Kanchipuram is famous for its temples and its hand woven silks. Later proceed to Mamallapuram. On arrival check in the hotel and proceed for a city tour of Mamallapuram. Mamallapuram is also called as Mahabalipuram and is famous for its shore temples. Visit Arjuna's Penance, Five Rathas, Crocodile bank, Thirukkalukundram etc and over night stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Mamallapuram - Pondicherry
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Pondicherry. .Pondicherry the former French colony settled in early 18th century. Pondicherry as also has an ancient Historical record of being home to Agastya Muni (a sage). On arrival in Pondicherry, check in the hotel. Later proceed for a City tour of Pondi visiting Sri Aurobindo Ashram, founded in 1926 by Sri Aurobindo, Raj Nivas, Pondicherry Museum, Churches beaches. Over night stay at hotel.
Day 04: Pondicherry - Tanjavur
After breakfast at hotel, check out and drive to Tanjavur. Upon arrival in Tanjavur, check in hotel. Tanjavur is also called as Tanjore. It is a historical town and popularly known as the Temple city .It was ones the capital of Chola Empire. Afternoon proceed for city tour of Tanjore visiting Brihadeeshwara Temple, which is the main attraction of the town built by Raja Raja Cholan, Palace built by Nayakas, Art gallery, Saraswati Mahal Library. Overnight stay at the hotel .
Day 05: Tanjavur/ Madurai
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Historically-rich Madurai .A great historic town. The Pandya king's ruled from here until the 14th Century .On arrival in Madurai, check in the hotel. Later proceed on a city tour of Madurai visiting Madurai Meenakshi Temple, Swami Sundareswara Temple, Gandhi Museum. The most notable in the Meenakshi Temple is 1000 pillared Hall carrying some beautiful sculptures of the seventeenth Century. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06: Madurai - Thekkedy
After breakfast at hotel, check out and drive to Thekkedy. Thekkedy is a world famous wildlife sanctuary and it is also called as Periyar. On arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon proceed for a game viewing cruise on the Periyar Lake. Here you will be able to see a large variety of wildlife, which include elephants, monkeys, deer, wild boar etc. In the evening, you can take an Elephant ride. Over night stay at the hotel.
Day 07: Thekkady/ Kumarakom
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive to Kumarakom - a place best known for the honeymooners. It is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake. The lush green vegetation and the climate attract a number of tourists to this place. On reaching Kumarakom check in at the hotel/resort. Later proceed on city tour visiting the Kumarakom bird Sanctuary. Rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy at the resort and you can make use of resort facilities like Swimming pool, Health club, out door and indoor games and you can also take an Ayurvedic Massage at resort. Over night stay at the hotel/resort.
Day 08: Kumarakom/ Cruise/ Cochin
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Cochin. Upon arrival in Cochin, check in the hotel. Later proceed on city tour of Cochin. You will be transferred to Cochin Harbour to board a speed boat which takes you to the Gateway of the Arabian Sea. On arrival at Fort Cochin, transfer to the island and continue the city tour visiting Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Chinese Fishing nets. Evening return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 09: Cochin/ Chennai (By Flight)
Breakfast in the hotel. In time transfer to the airport to board flight to Chennai. Upon arrival in Chennai, transfer to the hotel. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 10: Departure Chennai
Breakfast in the hotel. Checkout and in time transfer to the airport to board your flight for onward destination.
